01 / Privacy
Your data belongs to your play.
Ethereal is a turn-based card game. Guest play works offline and keeps progress on your device. If you choose to create an account, we use the information below to provide sign-in, save syncing, online matches, and game features.
AAccount & sign-in
We process your email address when you request a sign-in code. If you choose Apple sign-in, Apple provides an account identifier and may provide an email address, including a private relay address. Session credentials are stored in your device’s protected Keychain.
BSaves & matches
Local game progress and settings stay on your device. If you use an account, a copy can sync to our cloud service. Private online play stores account membership, match state, submitted actions, and the events needed to resume and display a match.
CLeaderboard
If you opt in to submit an eligible solo run, we store its score with a generated player alias and submission date. The public board shows the alias, score, and date, not your email or account identifier. You can disable future submissions in the app; prior public scores remain until the account is deleted.
DDevice & service data
The app stores game data locally so play can continue offline. Our hosting provider may process limited connection and operational logs to run and secure the service. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this page.
Service providers
We use Railway to host the API and database, GoTrue for account authentication, Resend to deliver sign-in messages, and Apple for Apple sign-in and app distribution services. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their services to Ethereal.
Retention & security
We keep account and game data while your account is active and as needed to operate, protect, and troubleshoot the service. Operational logs are retained only as needed for those purposes. We use transport encryption and access controls, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Guest progress is stored on your device. Removing the app may remove that local progress. Account data can be deleted from Account settings in the app.
02 / Your account
Leaving should be simple.
To delete your account, open Settings → Account & cloud save → Delete account and confirm. We delete the account, cloud save, leaderboard profile and score, and associated online match data. A private match that includes the deleted account becomes unavailable to its other participant.
Deletion removes the account’s local save and sign-in credentials from this device. Separate guest progress remains on the device. Deletion is completed in the app and does not require contacting support.

03 / Terms
Terms of use
Ethereal is currently offered as beta software through Apple’s TestFlight service. Features may change, be interrupted, or be unavailable, and game progress or online matches may be reset during testing. The beta is provided for evaluation and has no purchases, subscriptions, or paid currency.
Use the service lawfully and treat other players respectfully. Do not interfere with the service, exploit bugs to disrupt other players, or attempt unauthorized access. Private matches are for invited players; match outcomes and submitted game actions may be processed to operate the match.
Ethereal’s software, visual design, names, and original game content belong to their respective owners and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership to you.
The beta is provided as available. To the extent permitted by law, Ethereal is not responsible for indirect losses arising from beta interruptions or data loss. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
